Showcase of Learning

Every two years the Arlington Public Schools conducts a day long event, the

Showcase of Learning.

The purpose of this day is to highlight the outstanding

instructional practices taking place in our district, by our own district staff.

2008: "I Learn Best When..." Creating Learning Through Collaboration

District Coordinators: Kristine Copenhaver and Jane Downey

Showcase was held at Arlington High School and the Byrnes Performing Arts Center on Friday, March 14th.

  Some comments from participants:

"Great to build community with district."

"Nice way to "recharge" and get new ideas, build enthusiasm."

"I will change my teaching style."

"I picked up several ideas I will utilize in my classroom right away.  I appreciate the opportunity to have this day of sharing with our colleagues."

"I will investigate and learn more about using technology in my classes."

"I always learn something useful when I meet with other teachers."

"Sharing ideas with peers creates energy and hope."

"Today was great because we were able to align horizontially and vertically!  It was very nice to collaborate both these ways."
