Summer  Meal Program

Arlington Public Schools’ summer meal program starts on Monday, June 29 and will run through Aug. 21. Any child will be able to receive meals; there is no income qualification required and children do not have to be students enrolled in Arlington Public Schools.

The new meal program will look different than the one that ran this spring. Instead of serving hot meals daily, we will provide five days of breakfasts and lunches once a week at sites throughout the district. Prepared foods will be provided frozen. A total of up to four bags of food will be provided including prepared foods, milk and juice, perishable foods, fruits and vegetables. Our staff will ask for the names of children receiving meals.

Also, APS will distribute “Meals ‘til Monday” bags on behalf of the Arlington Community Food Bank at the locations and times listed below. Meals ‘til Monday bags contain two days’ worth of meals.

The new program will distribute meals for pickup at the following six sites:

• Arlington Boys and Girls Club
(Pick up on Mondays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm)

• Presidents Elementary School
(Pick up on Mondays and Tuesdays 10:00 am - 12:30 pm)

• The Rivercrest neighborhood (intersection of 208th ST NE/61st AV NE)
(Pick up on Mondays 11:00 am - 12:00 pm)

• The Jordan River Trails neighborhood (at the community clubhouse)
(Pick up on Mondays 9:00 am - 10:30 am)

• Bryant Community Grange (on State Route 9 north of Arlington)
(Pick up on Tuesdays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm)

• Trafton Store (on State Route 530 east of Arlington)
(Pick up on Tuesdays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm)

In order to help us identify how many meals to prepare for each location, we are asking families to complete the following meal distribution form:
