Arlington Education Association reaches three-year agreement with Arlington Public Schools
AEA APSMembers of the Arlington Education Association (AEA) voted on Sept. 3 to approve a three-year contract with Arlington Public Schools. The agreement calls for salary increases in 2024-25 of 3.7% - which is this year’s Implicit Price Deflator (IPD), IPD plus 0.5% in 2025-26, and IPD plus 1.5% in 2026-27. Other language items were also agreed to during the negotiations.

“Thanks to both the AEA and district bargaining teams for their hard work in reaching an agreement,” said Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Chrys Sweeting. “We are excited for the new school year.”

“Our members voted overwhelmingly to approve the agreement presented to them after months of negotiations with the district,” said Jason Klein, AEA President. “We are excited to have students back in buildings after their summer break.”

The Arlington School Board approved the agreement during the School Board meeting on Sept. 9.
