APS Transportation team places first at regional competition
RoadeoSchool bus drivers from the Arlington Public Schools’ Transportation Department competed against nine other districts and placed first in the regional bus driver skills and knowledge competition held May 6 at Mariner High School in Everett.

The annual “Roadeo” is hosted by Educational Service District 189. Participants take a written test, perform a pre-trip inspection of the bus, and participate in 10 driving events. Arlington school bus drivers Madison McNeal, Gary Wans, Michaela Blair, and Sarah Wardell participated in the event.

"We are so proud of our team's participation in this year's regional Roadeo competition,” said Brian Lewis, Arlington Public Schools Executive Director of Operations. “Their efforts and courage represent the high professional standards to which all our transportation staff hold themselves. The recognition of their skills and knowledge on display during the competition reflects well on our district's Transportation Department.”
