This month, Haller Middle School Leadership students gathered donations for a hygiene drive for Arlington Kids’ Kloset. Kids’ Kloset provides free clothing and other supplies to low-income families in Arlington, Darrington, Lakewood, and Granite Falls.
The hygiene drive ran from March 10-14 and included items like toothpaste, toothbrushes and other essentials. Arlington High School is running a similar drive throughout the month of March.
Kelli Smith from Kids’ Kloset reached out to the schools because they are in need of donations.
“Donations are how we keep providing resources to those in need,” said Smith. “This is our 20th year of operation. It’s great for students to see how they can help the community.”
“The students gathered 1,163 items and $390 in cash donations,” said Haller Leadership Advisor Rachel Harrington. “The Leadership students are the ones who put together the drive from start to finish. Activities like this really bring the school together.”
Haller eighth grader Sulina Rodriguez helped organize the drive for the school.
“I loved seeing how excited Kids’ Kloset was to receive all the donations.”
“It makes you feel really good to help those less fortunate than you,” said Haller eighth grader Robbie Torrey.
Those interested in making donations to Kids’ Kloset can drop off items at the donation bin at Kids’ Kloset on French Avenue and at Arlington Pediatric Dentistry or Heritage Bank Smokey Point. More information is available at
