Longtime Arlington Public Schools board member resigns
Jim WeissArlington Public Schools Board of Directors’ President, Jim Weiss, resigned his position effective July 14. His company is transferring him out of state and he will no longer be able to serve on the school board.

“I’ve enjoyed being a member of the Arlington School Board for the past 16 plus years,” said Weiss. “In that time, the district’s student population has grown from 5,015 to 5,600 and I signed roughly 6,250 senior diplomas. It has been a pleasure serving the students, parents and community members of Arlington as well as the staff of Arlington Public Schools.”

“We thank Jim for his many of service on the school board,” said Superintendent, Dr. Chrys Sweeting. “His commitment to maintaining good stewardship of district resources and supporting quality programs for students has served Arlington well.”

Director Judy Fay was appointed Board President and Director Mike Ray was appointed Vice President.
