Matt Dimond sworn in to serve on school board

New board member sworn in to serve on Arlington School Board
Matt DimondMatt Dimond was sworn in as a new board member during the Dec. 11 Arlington Public Schools Board of Directors meeting. Dimond represents district area 1 which includes the Arlington Heights and Oso areas. He replaces former director, Mike Ray.

Dimond is an Air Force veteran and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Social Work. He worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a case manager connecting veterans to housing services and benefits. He currently works as a Behavioral Health Clinical Specialist in the Lake Washington School District’s behavior program working with students on the autism spectrum and students who have experienced trauma.

“Education, mental health and advocacy have been a passion of mine since 2010 when I started my journey in social work,” said Dimond. “I am honored to serve my community as an Arlington School Board director.”
