Post Middle School is now able to use a working sound system to recognize students and for other events thanks to a grant from a local company. The previous sound system was inoperable. The new sound system will be portable so that it can be used in the cafeteria and other areas.
The school received a $1,500 Community Impact Fund grant from Perteet Inc., an Everett-based engineering consulting firm.
“Our company tends to attract people who volunteer and are involved in their community,” said Kern McGee, Perteet Inc. Lead Engineer/Project Manager. “We have an employee who has children that attend schools in Arlington. She suggested the grant to Post Middle School administration.”
“We are thankful for this grant from Perteet,” said Post Middle School Principal Leslie Olson. “It’s important for students to be recognized and we’re able to use the new portable sound system to highlight those achievements. We want the students to take pride in their school.”
Perteet Inc. has funded other projects in Arlington, such as computer mice during COVID, t-shirts for a fourth-grade book report, and a fish project.
