ImageAPPLE ECEAP preschoolers visited Eagle Creek Elementary on May 19 to get a sense of what the big school across from their campus is all about. Every year in the spring, preschoolers visit elementary school campuses to prepare them for the transition to kindergarten. Similar transitions happen between elementary and middle school and middle school and high school.

The preschoolers visited the gym, garden, playground, library and classrooms.

“We really want them to get a sense of what kindergarten will be like next year and have them become familiar with the school,” said Eagle Creek Assistant Principal Angie Hansen. “We’re trying to alleviate any concerns they might have.”

“We talk a lot about kindergarten and visiting the school addresses a lot of those fears,” said Director of APPLE ECEAP Carrie Saunders. “After the tour, they can’t wait to talk to their families about the fun they had!”

Preschooler Stevie Williams enjoyed the tour.

“I got a hug from my sister and her friend who were playing in PE!”
