Arlington School Board approves revised 2023-24 calendar
At its Aug. 28 board meeting, the Arlington Public Schools Board of Directors approved a revised 2023-24 school calendar.
Friday early dismissal is one hour instead of one hour and 15 minutes
Similar to last spring, Friday early dismissals are now a one-hour early dismissal instead of one hour and 15 minutes. By providing more instructional hours during the school year, we can hopefully prevent having to use make-up days at the end of the year due to weather-related school delays and closures.
Fridays during Elementary Conference Week
On the Fridays of elementary conferences (Nov. 3, 2023 and March 29, 2024), elementary students dismiss at 12:25 p.m. and middle school and high school students dismiss at 1:30 p.m. This earlier dismissal for elementary students allows time for our bus drivers to pick up and drop off elementary students before they have to return to pick up middle and high school students.
