Weston High School receives renewal accreditation
Weston High SchoolWeston High School has engaged in a full renewal accreditation process provided by the Washington Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) and facilitated by Northwest Educational Service District 189 and will remain accredited for six years. The accreditation process supports a long-term vision for a performance-based educational system that aligns accreditation requirements to the continuous improvement of student learning, achievement and growth. More than 300 schools statewide have received AESD Accreditation.

Weston High School was first accredited in 2012, re-accredited in 2018, and again in 2024. Accreditation lasts for six years. At year three, an AESD panel reviews progress made by implementing recommendations for the school since they became accredited. The panel also made recommendations on what the school can focus on for the next six years of accreditation.

“Weston was commended for being a campus where we met students exactly where they are. The Accreditation Board saw that we instinctively bend and flex to provide the targeted support that students need in order to remove barriers and be successful,” said Andrea Dixon-Hundredmark, Weston High School Principal. “The panel recommended we continue to provide targeted resources and professional development to tackle the mental health needs of our students while also opening up all avenues of support to mitigate the impacts of secondary traumatic stress on our faculty and staff. I am incredibly proud of the Weston staff for their dedication to our students.”

Weston High School is a small, traditional high school within the Arlington School District that operates as a School of Choice. Weston prides itself on being an equity-centered, trauma informed campus that prepares students for college, career and life beyond high school.
