I have been fortunate enough to live here throughout the entirety of my academic career. I began my early adventures at Pioneer Elementary before continuing on as a Haller Hawk, growing and creating the foundation for who I am today. Now, as a senior at Arlington High School, I am blessed to serve as the Senior Student Advisor to the board.
Growing up as the youngest, with four older siblings, I oftentimes found myself and my accomplishments overshadowed or already achieved by my brothers or sisters. I felt as though I didn't have anything that was overtly unique to me. This set about my desire to strive for something that I can hold "just for myself." It wasn't until fifth grade until I heard my teacher ask, "What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?" From then on, I knew I wanted to always spread kindness, love, and genuine human appreciation.
At Pioneer, I served for two years, (fourth and fifth grade), as a member of the Pioneer Respect Team where we promoted kindness, good habits, and led the school by example. This helped me understand what leadership was and how it impacts those around you. I'm grateful for these programs as it just scrapes the surface of what being a good role model truly is.
To continue my academic endeavors, I attended Haller Middle School and enjoyed my time as a Hawk. Oh, how… interesting… the middle school years are. Although extremely awkward and embarrassing at times, these were vital to my development as a student. But in the second half of my seventh grade year, the world was struck by the Covid-19 pandemic and sent me spiraling into even more confusion. I feel as though I lost a couple years of my life. Like millions of others across the globe, I struggled.
Now, I am a proud Arlington Eagle. I am very passionate in pushing all people, students, teachers, and community members alike, to try new things, explore different ideas, and strive to understand foreign concepts. Being an athlete, a member of Flight Jazz Choir, the Senior Student Advisor, an AP and high-scoring student, and a myriad of other clubs and positions, I have a unique opportunity to share ideas, desires, and needs from all different parts of the district.
But above all else, I always strive to build bridges through mutual respect and human interest. I am confident in my abilities to give my fellow students and community members a voice as we strive to build an Arlington whom all can call home.
