Guided by the district's Strategic Plan, the office of Teaching and Learning, working hand in hand with our educators, oversees the academic learning program for the school district. This includes supporting school improvement planning, articulating essential curricular standards based on the state's essential academic learning requirements, core curriculum adoptions, professional development, administration and oversight of district and state assessments, and state and federal programs tailored to meet students' needs.
We have embraced a culture of collaboration as one of our district's essential. Working in Professional Learning Communities, teachers make a collective commitment to focus on learning by working corroboratively, focusing on results and holding one another accountable for the learning of all students. The identification of a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum - those essential standards all students must master at each grade level - in every content area, has been a key focus area for us.
