Community Flyers
Our district cooperates with approved community partners by posting digital flyers online and distributing them electronically through our service provider,
Peachjar. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, we have transitioned from paper to electronic flyer delivery.
Community Groups and Outside Organizations
To request flyer approval, follow the steps below. If approved, your flyer will be emailed to families and posted online. We do not distribute paper flyers from outside organizations.
• Visit
www.peachjar.com
• Register as a Program Provider (account type)
• Upload your flyer for approval
• Your flyer will be automatically submitted to the district office. District staff will review the material and approve or deny based on “Flyer Approval Guidelines” below.
Peachjar charges a fee for this service, which is typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers to each school. Peachjar’s service fee will be waived in Arlington Public Schools when a local community organization is promoting a free event that does not entice participants to join a fee-based program or purchase products or services (
Free-for-Free). Community Free (Free-for-Free) flyer distribution is limited to one posting every 30 days for up to 25 schools per organization.
NOTE: If you are a parent group at one of our APS schools, such as a PTA or PTO, these instructions do not apply.
Flyer Approval Guidelines
Arlington Public Schools may distribute materials announcing programs and services offered by non-profit organizations that have a social, recreational, or educational value for students. Materials will not be sent home with students.
Dissemination of the information does not reflect the District’s endorsement or sponsorship of the activity. All materials distributed must contain the statement “Arlington Public Schools has neither reviewed nor approved the program, personnel, activities, or organizations announced in this flyer. Permission to distribute this flyer should not be considered a recommendation or endorsement by Arlington Public Schools.”
The District or the school will not distribute materials that:
A. Are obscene, lewd, or vulgar;
B. Are libelous;
C. Contain language that is intimidating, demeaning, harassing, or threatening on the basis of race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, honorably discharged veteran or military status, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, marital status, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability;
D. Promote commercial enterprises;
E. Promote the violation of existing laws, regulation or ordinances, or official school policy, rules or regulations; or
F. Proselytize or disparage religious beliefs.
Materials submitted by outside organizations will not be distributed/posted until authorized by the Superintendent or designee. The social, recreational, or educational value, benefit of the activity, and any potential interruption of the educational program will be considered in granting approval. For materials to be considered for distribution, the following criteria must be met:
- The organization requesting distribution of materials must be a non-profit agency or charitable organization.
- Schools will not distribute materials which do not conform to Board Policy 4060 and Procedure 4060P. This includes solicitation for funds, direct sales information by outside vendors, surveys, questionnaires, or requests for information by non-school organizations, or any solicitation for religious or political membership.
Families
If you provided your email address to your school on your student’s contact information form this year or last year, a Peachjar account has been established for you, and you should have received an email from Peachjar with your login information. This is provided so that you can manage your account and flyer delivery preferences.
You do not need to log in to receive or view e-flyers. If you did not provide your email address and would like to receive Peachjar e-flyers, let your school office know to add your email address to the district contact form.
If you are not receiving emails from Peachjar, there are two possible reasons for this:
- Your email address is not on file with your school. Let your school office know to add your email address to the district contact form.
- The Peachjar emails are going into your spam folder or you can't see the images in the email. To prevent the e-flyers from going into your spam folder, add
[email protected] to your email contacts. When you receive your first e-flyer, be sure to click “always display images.”
Peachjar is used exclusively for distribution of district- and school-approved flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose.
Schools
Individual schools may post flyers for their site that promote information and events related to:
- School (events, etc.)
- Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA/PTOs, etc.)
Each school site has its own Peachjar administrator who uploads these flyers. Please contact your school office if your flyer falls under one of the categories above.
